Arjama works as Manager – Organizational Development & Culture at Haiyya. The position mainly revolves around providing executive, administrative, and strategic management support to the CEO, as well as the Co-director and the Board. Although her work demands her attention on a management level, her interest areas also involve on ground issues. Stemming from her educational background, she thinks about things from an academic perspective, which involves questioning and criticizing the current social scenario.
She has done her dissertation on Memory and Conflict which mainly revolves around the narratives and stories of the survivors. She thinks that storytelling can be a way of reconciliation in a conflict situation. Being a part of Haiyya, her opinion has been strengthened as the organization too believes in narrative as a tool for creating awareness and mobilizing people for social change.
Arjama is a Political Science graduate and holds a Masters Degree in Peace and Conflict Studies. With an idealistic mindset, she believes that if people from different streams like media, academicians, activists, campaigners, etc come together to fight for the social, political, economic evils together rather than struggling on an individual level, magic shall happen!
