Abhishek (he/they) is the Head of Communications & Narrative Curation at Haiyya. Through campaign and program communications he disseminates learnings on people-powered movements, with the goal of creating and fostering a conducive campaigning eco-system. As a young leader, he believes in creating more young leaders, and has conducted several trainings and workshops with youth groups on leadership, team-building and online campaigning. He was part of the 2019 cohort of Harvard Kennedy School’s Executive Education program on Leadership, Organizing and Action, designing a campaign to demand holistic support for HIV prevention & PrEP in higher-risk groups in India.

With a background in journalism, he has 7+ years of experience in communications, design, and writing. Prior to Haiyya, his work has been published in national dailies and magazines like Hindustan Times, DNA, Asian Photography, and other online publications, writing on diverse issues of equality, rights, gender, sexuality, health, education, sanitation, sustainability, civic issues and young leaders. He is passionate about queerness, mental health and addiction-related issues.
