Each one of us shares Haiyya’s values personally and we have come together to put them in the public sphere. We each have ambitious goals for building more empowered communities but we are friends first – and we are always united, be it success or failure.

Aprajita Pandey

Aprajita is the Executive Director at Haiyya. She led Women’s voting rights campaign for Delhi State Assembly Elections 2013 and then launched the women safety campaign in Malviya Nagar. At Haiyya she has been focusing on neighborhood organizing work that enables citizens to become leaders who build collective power in their local communities in order to demand an accountable and responsive government on civic issues such as sanitation and women’s safety. She was recently recognized by Commonwealth Secretariat as the Regional winner of Commonwealth Youth Worker Award for Asia region in 2014. She is also the Global Affiliate member of Leading Change Network, a group of organizers who use Marshall Ganz’s community organizing framework. Aprajita is one of the core group organizers of Campaign Academy India which aims to train new generation campaigners on tools and techniques of campaigning.

Aprajita is a graduate from Tata Institute of Social Sciences where she pursued her Masters in Social Work and specialization in Gender Studies. She has worked with Digital Green on participatory video making and the Special Cell for Women and Children in Mumbai on issues like violence against women and on child sexual abuse.

Sukhmani Grover

Programs and Training Manager

Sukhmani is a Program’s and Training Manager at Haiyya. She led various youth programs at Haiyya including Haiyya internship program 2014 and then led the Haiyya Fellowship program 2014-15. At Haiyya she has been focussing on Training Programs and Youth Outreach Programs on Community Organising work enabling active youth to be changemakers in their local neighbourhood and building a community of organisers. She has been actively mentoring and coaching Haiyya’s Training Corps, an exclusive Haiyya program for the seasoned and trained Fellows who wish to get involved with Haiyya’s work. The recent Haiyya Fellowship Program concluded with a batch of 21 Fellows graduating and successfully organising in 13 neighbourhoods of Delhi and Mumbai.
Sukhmani did her undergraduate studies in Business Studies from Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies and Master’s in Sociology. She has worked with Capital IQ in Mergers and Acquisitions, with Unicef on Citizen’s Charter and with Tony Blair Faith Foundation to bring Global communities together and now works with Haiyya in enabling communities to take local neighbourhood action together.

Piyali Thakur

Operations and Communications Associate

Piyali is the Communications and Operations associate at Haiyya. A graduate from Institute of Hotel Management- Hyderabad. She started her career in the hospitality sector. Her management and interpersonal skills helped her serve a Gurgaon based IT company as Client Relationship Manager. In the past she has worked in a digital marketing space, created and designed various online and offline events and campaigns.

She believes, Haiyya is a one stop platform wherein one can learn, grow and lead. A step with Haiyya is a step forward to accept responsibility to bring that change.

Natasha Chaudhary

Projects and Campaigns Coordinator

Natasha is the Projects and Campaigns Coordinator at Haiyya. She works with young leaders, campaigners and social enterprises to help them build and scale different action-based community projects. She is passionate about youth leadership and how to channelize youth energy to build national movements.

Natasha is a Business Studies graduate from Delhi University with a major in marketing. She has been working with Haiyya since the inception as a core team member committed to build and grow the organization. She is trained and has experience of using the value based framework of community organizing and its models.

She has previously worked in the role of Field Coordinator managing 76 fellows across 3 campaigns on different community issues. She trains and coaches teams to build campaign strategy and implement it effectively. Natasha has also done trainings for TB activitists in India with a Harvard Med School and Partners in Health initiative. She has also worked with UnLtd India, a social enterprise incubator on communications and the YP Foundation with young girls using digital storytelling as a tool to right to expression.

Soumya Raj

Soumya is the Communications Strategist at Haiyya. Soumya closely observed people, she writes, photographs and participates about their personal and collective struggle. This coupled with a commendable creative margin is a workplace paradise for her. A third year student of English Hons at Indraprastha College of Women, University of Delhi.

Soumya’s passion for storytelling with a perfect blend of presentation skills, makes her an expert strategist.

Ana Abbas

Content Lead

Ana is the Content Lead at Haiyya, extending her expertise in Communications work at Haiyya and mentoring interns during Haiyya’s Internship Programs. Ana, has been a Fellow in the Haiyya Fellowship 6.0 where she has ran a campaign on Child Education and Skill Development in Dwarka. Her zeal, passion and believe in the work that she does, keeps her actively involved with Haiyya and it’s work.
Ana is a development practitioner based in Delhi with experience and focus on pragmatic approach to research which she has applied on numerous studies that look at the implementation status of government initiatives in various parts of India. She happily puts into practice reduction, reuse and recycling of materials in her daily life and travels whenever she finds the time and resources to.

Vishal Aggarwal

Training Corps

Vishal is a Training Corps at Haiyya, an economics student from Delhi University. Vishal started his journey as a fellow in Rise UP in 2013 and then worked as a team captain in model town constituency, where he organised more than 200 women to participate and vote in Delhi State Assembly elections 2013. He has been a constant pillar of support, motivation and inspiration for us. With his appeal to perfection and great passion towards work, he has the zeal to create the change and inspire others to join in the moment. Vishal has been involved as a Training corps for Fellowship 6.0. With training corps, Vishal is developing his coaching and facilitation skills. With abundant team, communication and facilitation expertise, Vishal has an eye for perfection.

Anjali Prabhakar

Training Corps

Anjali is a Training Corps at Haiyya, her enthusiasm and persona has been a building block of Haiyya Alumni group of Delhi. She started her Journey with Haiyya as a Team Captain in Power of 49 campaign. She was then selected as a leader in Malviya Nagar Constituency in Rise Up campaign at the time of Delhi state assembly elections 2013. She has supported Haiyya’s Women Safety campaign as a Research Intern wherein she has been researching on laws related to Women Safety.
Her motivational experiences, grounded approach and zeal to be a leader keeps her actively engaged with Haiyya’s work. She is pursuing her higher studies in law with Delhi University.She has been involved as a Training Corp with Fellowship 6.0. With training corps, Anjali is developing his coaching and facilitation skills.
